Mission Statement
Friends of Fernandina Aviation (FoFA) is a 501c3 organization founded to promote education and growthin the areas of STEM and aviation-related pursuits. We are a diverse group of passionate pilots and non-pilots contributing to the development of our future leaders. Annually, we award multiples cholarships to high performing local students based on GPA, merits, and personal interviews. FoFA also leads teaching segments in aviation-based STEM programs in Nassau County middle schools.
Our goal is to positively impact the imagination of our youth and help them dream BIG!
Objectives
The organizational goal of the Friends of Fernandina Aviation is to help increase public knowledge of Aerospace/Aviation through:
- Education Scholarships
- Community Outreach
- Aerospace/Aviation Education for Schools
- Career Days
Our organization supports and promotes the continuing improvement, modernization and development of the Fernandina Beach Municipal Airport, helping to educate the public on the importance of this critical asset for the local community. We remind the public that our Airport is not only a gateway to Amelia Island and Nassau County, but also an essential economic engine to the continued growth and development of our region, as well as a critical recovery element in the event we experience a natural disaster that could isolate the island community from the mainland.
